Wool Nain Persian Rug 300 × 405 cm, hand-knotted

The piece in short

Origin Iran, format 300 × 405 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. That is roughly 12.15 m² of floor, about 9.8' × 13.3'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Materials and construction

The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.

Where it fits

The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

Colour and appearance

Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
