The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 83 × 120 cm. That is roughly 1 m² of floor, about 2.7' × 3.9'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Pile material is given as 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, warp as 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. Small enough to sit in front of a dresser or just inside a door.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
