Origin Iran, format 137 × 210 cm — a Isfahan made entirely by hand. That is roughly 2.88 m² of floor, about 4.5' × 6.9'. Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.

Materials and construction

Construction: 100% Schurwolle mit Seide in the pile over a 100% silk foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.

Format and use

The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.

The stated knot density is 800,000–899,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.

On the colourway

The stated colourway is Weiß / beige. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
