About this rug
This Tabriz comes from Iran and measures 300 × 300 cm. That is roughly 9 m² of floor, about 9.8' × 9.8'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
The rug is round. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
