Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Isfahan of 137 × 205 cm. The covered area is about 2.81 m² (4.5' × 6.7'). Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 800,000–899,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
The stated colourway is Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
