Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 250 × 345 cm. The covered area is about 8.63 m² (8.2' × 11.3'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
