The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 202 × 298 cm. It covers approximately 6.02 m², or 6.6' × 9.8'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
