The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 250 × 343 cm. That is roughly 8.58 m² of floor, about 8.2' × 11.3'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
Age and condition
Stated condition: new.
