Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 200 × 290 cm. It covers approximately 5.8 m², or 6.6' × 9.5'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
