Overview
Hand-knotted in India: a Tabriz of 250 × 250 cm. It covers approximately 6.25 m², or 8.2' × 8.2'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Format and use
The rug is round. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
