About this rug
A Tabriz from India, measuring 200 × 305 cm. That is roughly 6.1 m² of floor, about 6.6' × 10'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Period
Stated condition: new.
