About this rug

Origin India, format 272 × 371 cm — a Oriental rug made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 10.09 m² (8.9' × 12.2').

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

The rug is rectangular. A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
