About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 146 × 205 cm. That is roughly 2.99 m² of floor, about 4.8' × 6.7'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
