The piece in short

Origin Iran, format 195 × 195 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 3.8 m² (6.4' × 6.4'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
