A Sarouk from Iran, measuring 200 × 305 cm. The covered area is about 6.1 m² (6.6' × 10'). Sarouk rugs are known for dense knotting and floral motifs.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

Format and use

The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

Fineness of the knotting

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
