About this rug

Origin Iran, format 170 × 253 cm — a Shiraz made entirely by hand. That is roughly 4.3 m² of floor, about 5.6' × 8.3'. Shiraz rugs come from a nomadic weaving tradition.

Construction

Stated material: new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

Format and use

The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

Fineness of the knotting

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
