Overview
Hand-knotted in India: a Tabriz of 200 × 295 cm. It covers approximately 5.9 m², or 6.6' × 9.7'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. Construction method: hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
