At a glance
Hand-knotted in India: a Tabriz of 248 × 302 cm. That is roughly 7.49 m² of floor, about 8.1' × 9.9'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Period
Stated condition: new.
