Overview
Origin India, format 246 × 246 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. That is roughly 6.05 m² of floor, about 8.1' × 8.1'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 10-12mm.
Format and use
The rug is round. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age
Stated condition: new.
