Overview

Origin India, format 250 × 298 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 7.45 m² (8.2' × 9.8'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 10-12mm.

Where it fits

The rug is rectangular. A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.

On the knot count

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

Colour and appearance

The stated colourway is multicolour. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
