Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 204 × 283 cm. That is roughly 5.77 m² of floor, about 6.7' × 9.3'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
The stated colourway is red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Period
Stated condition: new.
