The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 122 × 217 cm. The covered area is about 2.65 m² (4' × 7.1'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
How it reads
It is catalogued under blue / Türkis. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
