Origin Iran, format 140 × 214 cm — a Qom made entirely by hand. That is roughly 3 m² of floor, about 4.6' × 7'. Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

Size and placement

The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

Fineness of the knotting

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
