The piece in short
A Tabriz from India, measuring 161 × 236 cm. The covered area is about 3.8 m² (5.3' × 7.7'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 10-12mm.

The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
