Hand-knotted in Iran: a Qom of 129 × 177 cm. The covered area is about 2.28 m² (4.2' × 5.8'). Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
