Overview
A Heriz from Iran, measuring 215 × 300 cm. The covered area is about 6.45 m² (7.1' × 9.8'). Heriz rugs usually carry a bold, angular central medallion.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Where it fits
At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². This knot density balances pattern definition against hard-wearing construction.
On the colourway
The stated colourway is red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
