About this rug
A Shiraz from Iran, measuring 173 × 250 cm. That is roughly 4.33 m² of floor, about 5.7' × 8.2'. Shiraz rugs come from a nomadic weaving tradition.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Where it fits
A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
