The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 214 × 300 cm. It covers approximately 6.42 m², or 7' × 9.8'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
On the colourway
The stated colourway is red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
