Overview

Hand-knotted in Iran: a Hamadan of 302 × 207 cm. The covered area is about 6.25 m² (9.9' × 6.8'). Hamadan rugs are typically sturdy and geometrically patterned.

Construction

Stated material: cotton warp. It is entirely hand-knotted.

Size and placement

The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is under 200,000 knots/m². This knot density balances pattern definition against hard-wearing construction.

How it reads

Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.

Age

Stated condition: made 1970–1979.
