This Tabriz comes from Iran and measures 100 × 155 cm. The covered area is about 1.55 m² (3.3' × 5.1'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. Construction method: hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
