Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 156 × 208 cm. The covered area is about 3.24 m² (5.1' × 6.8'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
