A Nain from Iran, measuring 310 × 200 cm. That is roughly 6.2 m² of floor, about 10.2' × 6.6'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
Construction: wool, silk in the pile over a cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Weight is given as ap. 18 kg.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
