Overview

Origin Iran, format 128 × 210 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. That is roughly 2.69 m² of floor, about 4.2' × 6.9'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Materials and construction

The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.

The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.

Colour and appearance
