The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Isfahan of 82 × 128 cm. The covered area is about 1.05 m² (2.7' × 4.2'). Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
What it is made of
Stated material: new wool, silk warp. Construction method: hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. Small enough to sit in front of a dresser or just inside a door.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
