About this rug
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 412 × 301 cm. It covers approximately 12.4 m², or 13.5' × 9.9'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age and condition
Stated condition: made 1920–1949.
