The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Ardebil of 273 × 194 cm. The covered area is about 5.3 m² (9' × 6.4').
Materials and construction
Pile material is given as wool, warp as cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Weight is given as ap. 16 kg.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
Condition
Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. As a contemporary piece the pile is still even and largely unwalked.
