Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Farahan, Sarouk of 242 × 311 cm. It covers approximately 7.53 m², or 7.9' × 10.2'. Sarouk rugs are known for dense knotting and floral motifs.
Construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Format and use
At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
