The piece in short
Origin Iran, format 324 × 215 cm — a Farahan, Sarouk made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 6.97 m² (10.6' × 7.1'). Sarouk rugs are known for dense knotting and floral motifs.
Materials and construction
The pile is Handgesponnene Wolle, on a warp of cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Weight is given as ap. 20 kg.
