Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Gabbeh Loribaft of 197 × 150 cm. It covers approximately 2.96 m², or 6.5' × 4.9'. Gabbeh rugs favour simple, open designs and a thick pile.
What it is made of
Stated material: 100% wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 12 mm.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age and condition
Stated condition: new.
