About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Hamadan of 203 × 300 cm. The covered area is about 6.09 m² (6.7' × 9.8'). Hamadan rugs are typically sturdy and geometrically patterned.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
