About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Isfahan of 107 × 159 cm. It covers approximately 1.7 m², or 3.5' × 5.2'. Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% Schurwolle mit Seide in the pile over a 100% silk foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Where it fits
The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
It is catalogued under multicolour. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
