About this rug
This Isfahan comes from Iran and measures 142 × 216 cm. The covered area is about 3.07 m² (4.7' × 7.1'). Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 600,000–699,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
