Overview
Origin Iran, format 102 × 153 cm — a Isfahan made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 1.56 m² (3.3' × 5'). Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
Construction
Pile material is given as 100% new wool, warp as 100% silk. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 600,000–699,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
