About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Isfahan of 110 × 162 cm. The covered area is about 1.78 m² (3.6' × 5.3'). Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
