About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Isfahan of 200 × 310 cm. That is roughly 6.2 m² of floor, about 6.6' × 10.2'. Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
Construction
Pile material is given as 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, warp as 100% silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 800,000–899,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
