Hand-knotted in Iran: a Isfahan of 206 × 149 cm. It covers approximately 3.07 m², or 6.8' × 4.9'. Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
Construction
The pile is wool, silk, on a warp of silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Weight is given as ap. 7 kg.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

The stated knot density is 600,000–699,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under multicolour. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
Condition
Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. Being recent, the pile shows little wear and holds its full height.
