About this rug
A Isfahan from Iran, measuring 210 × 296 cm. The covered area is about 6.22 m² (6.9' × 9.7'). Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% silk. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 800,000–899,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
