The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Kashmar of 90 × 60 cm. The covered area is about 0.54 m² (3' × 2'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as Hochflor.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. At this size it works as an entryway mat or a bedside rug.
On the colourway
The stated colourway is red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age
Stated condition: 21st century.
