The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Kashmar of 197 × 150 cm. The covered area is about 2.96 m² (6.5' × 4.9'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as Hochflor.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is green / Oliv. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age and condition
Stated condition: 21st century.
