Around 2.4 million knots went into this piece (200,000-299,999 knots/sqm) — a coarser knot count, which gives a heavier, more hard-wearing pile. Pile 100% silk;, warp 100% cotton. Silk carries dye deeper than wool: the colours sit darker in shadow and brighter into the light. At 9.8 m² it takes a sofa and two chairs with the front legs on the rug. Proportion 1.25:1.
